Our Mission

To shine light as we walk alongside those individuals and families facing
end-of-life and serious illness, advocating for their choices,
and companioning them through the final moments of life and beginning stages of grief.

Together in end-of-life:

  • About your doula, Marissa Lorenz...

    I believe strongly that the opportunity to serve others is really a gift granted us and, in my experience, a mostly unexpected one–exactly what we need when we didn’t even know we needed it.

    In my professional life, I have had the opportunity to teach, counsel, inform, and advocate. I have, in turn, been presented with the gifts of learning, listening, sharing, and receiving.

    Through the various twists and turns of my personal life, I’ve had the opportunity to bring all these gifts into the realm of aging, illness, and dying. And I’ve been gifted with the most profound honors in return:

    ** The honor of witnessing life at its most aware

    ** The honor of holding space for any and all thoughts and feelings

    ** The honor of hearing and recording the most precious life stories

    ** The honor of helping to create sanctuary, so that the greatest life transition can take place in the greatest possible peace and safety

    I would be honored by the opportunity to serve you or your loved one(s)--offering what light, companionship, and care that I can– as you prepare for and/or experience death and dying.

  • About you...

    YOU are a valuable person who deserves respect, care, dignity, and safety. — You especially deserve these things when you are facing illness and end of life.

    Maybe you’re facing those things now.

    Maybe you love someone who is sick or dying.

    Maybe you are super healthy today but want to make sure that you are prepared for this unavoidable eventuality.

    Maybe you are facing end-of-life and you never knew that you could or should or would want to prepare for it.

    Maybe you’re surrounded by people who love you but who are overburdened by their own fears and grief right now.

    Maybe you are alone or feel alone, without an understanding family or community to support you.

    Maybe you know exactly how you want to be remembered.

    Maybe you need help manifesting your legacy.

    Maybe you’d just like someone by your side whose sole purpose is to hold up your voice, hold your space, and hold your hand as you create your own best death, with dignity, care, safety, and respect…

“to live in this world

you must be able
to do three things
to love what is mortal;
to hold it

against your bones knowing
your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go,
to let it go”
― Mary Oliver
